Preserve Your Child's Handprint in Clay!
Now Two Great Options
Bring in your child and . . .
1. We'll press his/her hand or foot in a soft clay heart. Then pick a color and we'll fire it to preserve it forever. Only $30.
2. We'll apply colored glaze (nontoxic, of course) on your child's hand or foot and press onto a ceramic plate. Then we can decorate the rim of the plate with fun designs, name, and date. We'll fire it and it will be ready within a week. Only $25.
These make great gifts or heirlooms. Call to reserve a time.

Paint Your Own Ceramics
Work in the Studio to create your own ceramic masterpiece. The cost is $5 for studio time which includes paints, firing, and glaze. The ceramic pieces cost from $5 - $20 and include mugs, plates, bowls, and more. Call to reserve a time!

Birthday Parties
We offer four affordable, unique party packages: Mosaic Stepping Stone, Picture Frame, Painted Tile, or Jewelry. Prices are from $15 each to $25 each. The birthday person is free!

Día de los Muertos Shrine

Make a glittery shrine out of a simple cigar box with a front window opening featuring a Day of Dead paper image or small figure. Felt, special papers, sequins, glitter, glue, and your own inspired imagination will result in a piece of art that can be hung or placed on an altar in celebration of the season.

Accordion Book (Kids Welcome)

Make a simple accord ian book (also known as a concertina). We'll decorate using a variety of media including stamping, embossing, paint, and collage.

Learn the art form of altering books using mixed media of all kinds. Creative techniques will be taught and many examples will be available. Collage images, beads, ribbon, fiber, paint, found objects, and old books are provided.

Make a necklace and a pair of matching earrings out of glass beads. The necklace can be up to 26". Choose from a variety of bead colors, shapes, and sizes.

Beginning Ceramics (Kids Welcome)

This is a hand building class where you learn the basics of clay, pinch, coil, and slab construction. In four meetings, you can construct something more complicated or do two or three pieces. Make plates, candle holders, sculptures, and more. Two-part class.

Ceramic Tile Painting

 

Learn how to paint tiles that you can use in your own kitchen backsplash or bathroom shower. Experiment on two tiles. Multiple techniques demonstrated. After this class you can you’ll have the skills to make more tiles in the studio.

Cigar Box Purse

Take your design ideas and put them on a classi wooden cigar box. Turn it into a functional purse by adding a handle made with lampwork beads.

Children’s Copper Mask

Funny or scary! Animal or monster! Have fun creating your copper wall mask. Cut it out of thin copper foil, use your imagination and various tools and techniques such as embossing, hammering, and stamping to add facial features, texture, and design. Add twisted or coiled wires and beads to complete your mask.

Clay Luminarias

Make a candle holder out of low fire clay, In the process, learn abut the basis of handbuilidng with clay: slab construction, slipping, and scoring. In the second class, decorate with glazes and bright colors, 2 part class

Collage Greeting Cards

Collage Greeting Card Use handmade papers, twigs, milagros, charms, postage stamps, and ribbon to create cards that can be sent to a special person or framed as a gift.

Copper Valentine

Use thin gauge copper or brass combined with wire or beads to create a heart-shaped pendant or pair of earrings. Stamp designs and words in the surface for added whimsy.

Decorative Faux Finish Painting
Learn five basic finishes for wall and furniture: sponging, ragging, combing, simple marbleizing, and color washing. Students will complete sample boards in each technique and receive handouts on how to complete projects at home.

Reconstructed Journal
In this class you will alter a hard cover book by removing the printed pages and adding new blank pages with a simple pamphlet stitch.  Decorative papers, paints and mixed media are then used to embellish the cover. Metal Mask Making
Create a primitive or modern mask out of thin gauge copper or brass. The surface will be enriched with texture. The design may be subtractive or additive by using coiled, bent or forged shapes of sheet metal or wire. Masks may be fumed or oxidized to add depth and presence.

Mixed Media Art Doll

Come create a mixed media art doll as featured in Art Doll Quarterly's Winter 2007 edition by artist Deborah Truesdell. You will be furnished with a doll form, presewn, but left to be embellished by you with paints, encaustic waxes, paper, fibers, material and metal. Let your imagination soar amoungst the angels!

Learn the techniques of mosaic work as you create a piece of art. Bring an old tray, small table top, a wide wooden frame, a box . . . any flat, wooden surface will do. Also bring tiles and broken china to use in your mosaic.

Polaroid Transfer Class

Use variations of paper, texture, time, and temperature to create an image similar in appearance to a watercolor. We start with 35mm slides and using a slide printer, transfer the image to Polaroid film and then to watercolor paper.
